Atomic Redster C9 Carbon Junior 172 cm Cross-country Skis
Product code: AB0021450172 | ID: 373073
Atomic Redster C9 Carbon Junior is ski made to get young racers flying. With a Nomex Featherlight core, Sintered World Cup Base and World Cup Grinding, its got all the perks of its adult counterpart. It’s also got a special Race Carbon WC Insert that uses carbon as efficiently as possible, making the ski powerful without adding any weight. This construction helps youngsters grip better in the kick phase whatever their weight – perfect for kickstarting a career on the tracks.
SKI TECHNOLOGY
An ultra-lightweight material originally used in aerospace. This core is structured like a honeycomb for strength, resilience and liveliness. It also uses it in combination with Densolite.
This sintered world cup base includes 10% special glide additive for a great glide in all conditions.
For race skis it uses carbon as efficiently as possible: this special insert provides max kick and glide performance but is also really thin to keep the ski light and help racers ski faster for longer.
SKINTEC:
With Skintec Technology you are saving time - there is no need to study up on kick-waxing professionally. All Skintec skis offer the same advantages: Step-Down-Sidewall (SDS), 100% Mohair and Easy Skin Exchange technology.
Easy Skin Exchange allows you to exchange skins by yourself on the spot to adapt to terrain and snow conditions. You can switch between a universal skin for everyday use and different speed skins for even higher performance. Both types are made from the highest-quality Mohair.
The Step-Down-Sidewall (SDS) camber construction keeps the kick zone high in the glide phase for no friction, but easy to compress during the kick.
DIGITAL SKI PAIRING - MADE TO MEASURE:
Every ski is measured in the factory, matched to a perfect pair and then stickered with its exact weight corridor.
Your skis don’t just need to match your body weight - they also need to match each other. It has developed a digital software that can assess 15 different tolerance parameters to match a left and right ski perfectly for a stronger, better-balanced performance.
CARBON RACE MONOCOQUE:
This is the special ski construction that gives top Classic and Skate Race skis that extra bit of power. In Redster Carbon Classic, the carbon chassis runs the length of the ski (except the tip), making it very light and dynamic for extreme acceleration. In the Redster Carbon S9 the carbon chassis runs the whole length of the ski, making the ski lighter and stronger, offering more direct power transmission for fast, dynamic gliding.
SKI CORES
At the core of every ski are the materials that determine how it behaves. Two different core materials in range:
An ultra-lightweight material originally used in aerospace. It’s structured like a honeycomb for strength, resilience and liveliness.
- NOMEX CORES:
Featherlight, Featherlight SDS, Lite, Lite SDS
Light, stable and tough. Densolite is produced in Atomic’s own facilities and comes in different variations. They’re all equally tough, but some versions are lighter and more dynamic.
- DENSOLITE CORES:
Speedcell, Helium Densolite, Ultra High Densolite, High Densolite, Densolite
LAMINATES
Placed right underneath the core, laminates contribute towards the rebound and power transmission of a ski. In skis are two different types of laminates:
The carbon laminate ensures power transmission in top models like the Redster C9 Skintec. Besides high performance, the super light carbon material adds stability to the ski.
The fiberglass laminate is responsible for a strong, but easy kick in skis and makes them forgiving for errors on the tracks - the perfect material for Pro models like the Pro C2 Skintec.
BASES
Two different kinds of high-quality bases for optimal glide performance.
Redster race models feature high-end sintered bases, which are able to hold more wax and perform longer. Special glide additives make them extremely fast.
BI 5000 SA = Sintered Worldcup base
BI 5000 = Sintered Worldcup base
BI 4000 SA = Sintered base
BI 4000 = Sintered Base
Base Extruded bases excel through easy handling and reliance – they will perform well without needing an expert to prepare them.
BI 3000 = Extruded Base
BI 2000 = Extruded Base
BI 1500 = Extruded Base
GRIP
Grip technology provides grip in the kick zone without the need for kick wax. Three different Grip types:
High-performance waxless technology with 100% Mohair skin grip zones, featured across the range.
A versatile grip technology with a hot stamped no-wax pattern.
A no-wax pattern milled in the ski base, ideal for newcomers to the classic track.
SIDEWALLS
Putting a sidewall on a cross-country ski helps with steering and power transmission. Two different sidewalls that feature on skis:
The SDS sidewall construction combines Densolite or lightwood materials with an ABS insert, which keeps the kick zone high in the glide phase for no friction, but easy to compress during the kick. It has the SDS Technology in classic ski range.
This sidewall construction features lightweight wood for the perfect combination between stability and power transmission. Lightweight Wood Sidewalls are used in the skate ski range.
