Bärenreiter Nejmenší etudy pro malé i větší houslisty Sheet Music

Illustrations: Martina Špinková

  • Miniature etudes for practicing shifts in positions 1–4
  • A completely new perception of shifts as a physical and aural experience of intervals
  • Methodologically follows from Houslové knížky 1–3

Experienced and beloved educator Eva Bublová addresses the issue of the violinist’s left hand movement on the fingerboard in her latest ''Houslové knížky 4.'' The exclusive focus of ''Nejmenších etud pro malé i větší houslisty'' is therefore on position shifts (1–4), rather than just ''playing in higher positions.'' The new approach here is to perceive shifts as a physical and auditory experience of intervals.

  • ''Nejmenší etudy'' methodologically continue from the program of ''Houslové knížky 1–3,'' either as a continuation or to be used concurrently with ''Houslové knížky 2.'' Melodic one- and two-line etudes are also suitable for use in teaching from other schools or methods as a substitute for less engaging technical exercises and scales.
  • Some etudes are enriched with a second voice, and the collection concludes with seven so-called concert etudes co-authored by Josef Vlček. Piano accompaniments are included in the booklet as an appendix.
