Product code: SYSTEM-15 | ID: 449511
The first SYSTEM 55, 35 and 15 synth modules came out in the early 70s and tended to be extremely expensive. They were mainly all discrete transistor designs as op-amps at the time were very high cost. The discrete circuitry gave the modules a very distinctive sound and were used by artists like Keith Emerson, Stevie Wonder, Tangerine Dream and so many more, giving us some of the greatest records we’ve ever heard. Modular synths were a landmark development in electronic music and today, it’s about to get better.
Behringer bringing back all those amazing modular synths that you’ve all come to know and love and they’re putting them in one neat package that’ll surely blow you away. Enter the Behringer SYSTEM 15. This is a pre-assembled “System 15” modular synthesizer that comes packed with 16 of our vintage sounding synth modules, mounted and fully powered in the super-sturdy EURORACK GO case. It even comes with some extra space for another one of our favorite things… more modules!
Adding even more flexibility to the SYSTEM 15, the 961 INTERFACE module converts V-trig to S-trig and vice versa and can even convert any audio source you plug in to a V-trig to drive other modules in your setup. You can further shape and control a signal’s timbre and resonance with the 914 FIXED FILTER BANK which features 12 active bandpass filters ranging from 125 Hz to 5.6 kHz with additional Low Pass and High Pass filters.
The SYSTEM 15 also comes with a 904B VOLTAGE CONTROLLED HIGH PASS FILTER and 904A VOLTAGE CONTROLLED LOW PASS FILTER, two 902 VOLTAGE CONTROLLED AMPLIFIERS, two 911 ENVELOPE GENERATORS and a CM1A MIDI-to-CV converter so you can control the SYSTEM 15 with a MIDI keyboard, sequencer or DAW, to truly round out this rig. We’ve even included a few blank panels in case you want to expand the SYSTEM 15 with even more modules! You don’t even have to worry about power as the included EURORACK GO case comes with its own PSU.
A powerful oscillator system allows users to create rich and variable sound textures. Oscillators can generate a variety of waveforms, including sine, square, triangle, and noise, allowing for creativity and experimentation.
An LFO, or low frequency oscillator, brings electronic sound to life. It adds movement and interest to synthetic sounds and effects, playing an important role in both subtle synthesis and bold sound design. However, you won't hear the LFO itself because it acts as a modulator. This means that it does not directly affect the audio signal, but adjusts other parameters such as oscillator pitch and filter clipping.
It supports MIDI, allowing you to connect and communicate with other MIDI-compatible devices. This feature extends control and integration into the larger music environment, increasing flexibility and creativity in music creation.
Modulation allows you to change different aspects of the sound in real time, opening up a wide range of creative possibilities. For example, it can affect the pitch of the sound, creating a vibrato effect, or it can change the amplitude of the signal, creating a tremolo effect. It can also adjust filtering to create smooth transitions between frequency bands and dynamic textures. Modulation can also be used to change the character of the sound depending on the time or intensity of playing, giving the sound a lively and moving character.
The sequencer provides musicians with a tool for composing and arranging music, allowing them to create and edit musical sequences. This feature allows you to record and play back repeating patterns. This makes it easy to create complex rhythms and melodies. The sequencer also allows you to layer different musical elements on top of each other, sync with other devices, and adjust parameters in real time. This flexibility makes the sequencer an invaluable tool for producing music, experimenting with new sounds and creating original compositions.
