Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard Copper Iridescent Electric guitar

Renowned guitarist Joe Bonamassa has one of the world’s most enviable guitar collections. One prized instrument is a 1955 Les Paul Standard with a very rare Copper Iridescent finish that was originally created for display at the 1955 NAMM Show. As Joe noted, "From a distance, it looks brown, but in direct light, it has gold metal flake in the finish." Epiphone’s Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard faithfully recreates this special guitar. It features the same Copper Iridescent color, a pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups wired to CTS potentiometers and Mallory™ capacitors, a Custom '59 Rounded C neck profile, long neck tenon, and a "Nerdville" graphic hardshell case.

Fretboard

Fretboard: Laurel

Laurel is a medium hard wood with a warm brown tone and fine texture. It provides a well-balanced tone with a softer response, contributing to a comfortable playing experience. The Laurel fingerboard is an affordable alternative to more expensive woods, while offering good stability and a pleasing appearance.

Body

Body: Mahogany

Mahogany is a dense wood that produces a warm, full tone with rich bass and a strong mid-range. It is known for its excellent sustain and resonance, giving it a deep and round sound.

Pickups Configuration

Pickups Configuration: P90 / P90

The P90/P90 configuration means that the guitar is equipped with two P90 pickups. These pickups offer a powerful and punchy tone with more mid-range than traditional single-coil pickups, but with a less aggressive sound than humbuckers. This configuration is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, from rock to blues.

Neck

Neck: Mahogany

The guitar features a mahogany neck for excellent strength and stability. Mahogany is known for its great resonance, contributing to a warm, rich tone with a distinctive mid-range.
