Electric guitar with double-cutaway RG body shape is the most recognizable and distinctive instrument in the Ibanez line, ideal for hard playing, drop tunings and heavy genres. Three decades of metal have forged this high-performance machine, honing it for both speed and strength. It features a meranti body and a 3-ply Wizard III maple neck that offers unlimited playability for demanding players, and features a two-octave 24-fret, bound 40mm-radius jatoba fingerboard with white dot inlays for wide tonal range. Scale length is 648 mm, nut width is 43 mm. Guitar is equipped with two passive Quantum pickups with ceramic magnets that provide accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing with crushing mid-range and precise high-end articulation. Other features include a fixed bridge, Cosmo Black hardware and strings with gauges .010/.013/.017/.026/.036/.046.
The matte finish gives surfaces a subtle, unobtrusive and elegant appearance without gloss. This type of finish is achieved by using special paints, varnishes or coatings that absorb light instead of reflecting it. This provides a smooth, non-dazzling finish which gives the materials a sophisticated and modern appearance. The matte finish is popular for its ability to hide small imperfections and fingerprints, making it a convenient choice for everyday use.
Maple is known for its strength and stability, making it ideal for necks that need to resist bending and warping.
The humbucker-humbucker configuration means that the guitar is equipped with two humbucker pickups. It offers a powerful, full sound with high output and low noise, ideal for rock and metal.
Jatoba is a hardwood with a warm, reddish tone that produces a bright, articulate sound with good response. The Jatoba fingerboard is valued for its durability and strength, while providing a smooth and stable feel. It is an affordable alternative to more expensive woods that still provides a quality sound and attractive appearance.
The Superstrat is a type of electric guitar based on the design of the Stratocaster, but modified for a more aggressive style of playing, especially in the hard rock and metal genres. It has a solid body, often with powerful humbucker pickups for a more powerful and distorted sound. Superstrat guitars often have an improved tremolo system (like the Floyd Rose) and a faster neck for technical playing. This type of guitar is designed for the modern guitarist who demands more versatility and performance.
Meranti is a medium-weight wood that produces a warm and balanced tone with soft bass and rounded mids. It has similar characteristics to mahogany, but is slightly lighter. Because of its affordability and good tonal characteristics, it is used in guitars as an alternative to more expensive woods, providing solid sustain and resonance.
