Jack Wolfskin Crosstrail 30 ST Storm Grey Outdoor Backpack

Forest trails, steep grassy slopes and rocky summit paths. Sounds like fun? The CROSSTRAIL 30 ST will keep your back cool and dry, even on the toughest hikes.

This lightweight hiking pack provides outstanding back ventilation. It is ergonomically designed and has plenty of space for your day hiking kit. The load is evenly distributed, and the pack sits comfortably with no pressure points. The “soft-neck” shoulder strap construction provides added comfort in the neck area.

The packs in the CROSSTRAIL product series benefit from a redeveloped version of the hugely successful JACK WOLFSKIN ACS back system. Since its launch in 1991, the classic Air Control System has been synonymous with advanced ventilation, carry comfort and climate control. The comfort is enhanced by the air mesh fabric, which has large pores for optimal ventilation. There is a gap between the mesh back panel and the body of the pack. This gap allows perspiration to dissipate more effectively and helps keep your back dry.

This hiking pack is not only good for your back, it’s good for the environment too. The air mesh fabric is sustainably manufactured and is dyed using our innovative, waterless FUTURE DYE process. This saves 10 litres of water per pack. The lining consists entirely of recycled polyester.

With the CROSSTRAIL on your back, everything is securely stowed and easy to retrieve. Your water bottle, for example, can be stashed in the fold-out bottle holster on the waist belt so you can grab it when you need it. An additional U-shaped zip on the front allows direct access to the main compartment.

The pack benefits from a comprehensive list of highly practical features. With multiple packing options – elasticated mesh pouches on the front and sides, lashing loops for a set of trekking poles and a pocket inside the lid for small items – you can carry everything you need for the trail. And because it’s important to keep your fluid intake up when you’re hiking, particularly in warmer weather, the CROSSTRAIL is also prepped to accommodate a hydration system.

Technologies:

ACS Tight

Packs featuring the pack carrying system ACS Tight (Air Control System), sit close to the body, enhance freedom of movement and have a central ventilation channel, which efficiently wicks away the hot air.

BACKLENGTH S-M

Backpacks with a "BACKLENGTH S-M" are suitable for a back length of between 46-54 cm.

The back length is measured from the 7th cervical vertebra to the 5th lumbar vertebra or, alternatively, from the shoulder to the top edge of the pelvic bone.

The back length is stated on backpacks which are primarily used on either day trips or treks lasting several days.

100% PFC-free

Label for water-repellent coating without PFC. One of our top aims is to eliminate PFCs in our collection.

PFCs (per- and poly-fluoride chemicals) are substances used on the surfaces of items to give them water-repellent or fat-repellent properties, which is the reason they are mainly used in waterproof trousers and jackets.

As it is still not clear which PFCs are "good" (i.e. degradable) and which ones are not, we took the decision to eliminate them all from our entire collection. We are now very close to attaining our goal: all our clothing and equipment are now completely PFC-free. And the number of PFC-free shoes in our collection is on the rise.

bluesign® PRODUCT

The bluesign® PRODUCT logo stands for safe textiles, environmentally friendly production and responsible use of resources.

The bluesign® system excludes substances that are harmful to the environment and to health from the very beginning of the manufacturing process. All steps in the process are comprehensively monitored by independent bodies. This ensures environmentally friendly and safe production, as well as the highest standards concerning use of resources, consumer protection, water and air emissions as well as workplace safety.

A bluesign® PRODUCT comprises at least 90% bluesign® certified textiles and 30% bluesign®-certified accessories, i.e. minor components such as zips, buttons, etc.

Grüner Knopf (Green Button)

The Green Button is a government-run* certification label for sustainably manufactured textiles. It provides guidance for consumers when shopping. The Green Button sets out mandatory requirements to protect people and the environment in the textile production process. A total of 46 stringent social and environmental criteria must be met – ranging from wastewater to forced labour.

What is special about the Green Button is that the company as a whole is also audited, not just the product. This makes it the first government-run certification label to systematically audit companies for compliance with human rights and environmental due diligence in their supply chains.

The government defines the criteria and conditions for the Green Button, creating clarity and trust. Independent auditors review compliance with the criteria.

Recycled

A large number of our products are already made of sustainable materials from recycled resources, and we are continually working towards increasing the percentage.

We use recycled PET bottles in many of our materials, such as fleece, synthetic fibre filling and the outer hardshell and softshell fabrics.

The membrane used in our Texapore Ecosphere is made from production remnants, meaning there is no waste.

And SEAQUAL™ is a synthetic fibre made from plastic debris fished out of the oceans.
