MOOG Muse Synthesizer
Product code: MUSEXEUK | ID: 1147087
Meet Muse, an eight-voice analog bi-timbral polyphonic synthesizer — the culmination of over 5 years of dreams, design, and passion. Muse is an intuitive and powerful instrument built on the rich history of Moog that simultaneously gazes boldly into the future. This studio or performance centerpiece is driven by eight analog voices, each with two VCOs, a modulation VCO, dual VCFs, and a stereo VCA — all with that recognizable, kinetic analog quality.
Muse represents a melting pot of classic Moog designs paired with forward-thinking controls in one complete instrument. We’ve selected the very best of vintage Moog circuits to create Muse – inspired by Moog Voyager oscillators, MF-102 Ring Modulator, CP3 Mixer, 902 VCA module, and a 904a Filter.
With 16 banks of 16 patches, you’ll encounter beautiful pads, organic FM plucks, attention-grabbing leads, subterranean basses, stage-oriented key splits, as well as 2 banks reserved for your own sonic discoveries. Explore and express yourself endlessly with cutting-edge digital controls for powerful modulation capabilities, dedicated macro control, customizable envelopes, and multiple flexible LFOs. Shaping sound with Muse is a pleasure — the synthesizer and synthesist grow as one as the adventure continues for years to come.
Muse was created for, and by, modern musicians, producers, and sound designers who appreciate performance-oriented controls, intuitive knob per function layout, and "More" menus for every module. Built for stage and studio with a 61-key Fatar keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch, a left-hand controller with pitch and mod wheels, and a programmable Macro knob makes the experience of interacting with Muse inspiring, intriguing, and innately playable.
In addition to Muse’s creative immediacy, the powerful arpeggiator invites you to generate melodic ideas with compelling patterns and rhythms. With Muse’s deep sequencer, you'll unravel unique patterns and gestures — further develop these discoveries with parameter recording, generative/probabilistic functions, and detailed editing of every note in the sequence — Moog Muse is a limitless canvas of musical exploration.
Best of the Best
A melting pot of classic Moog analog circuit designs is paired with forward-thinking digital controls in one complete instrument. Muse combines discrete oscillators derived from the Minimoog Voyager, brought together by a saturating mixer, dual transistor ladder filters, and stereo discrete VCAs all inspired by Moog Modular circuits.
Stage to Studio
With performance-oriented controls, an intuitive knob-per-function layout, and “More” menus for every module, Muse was created for, and by, modern musicians, producers, and sound designers. In addition to Muse’s creative immediacy, a powerful arpeggiator, chord memory, and a polyphonic sequencer provide deep editing capabilities and generative behaviors that fuel musical expeditions.
Mesmerizing
A hypnotic stereo Diffusion Delay processor was inspired by golden era vintage digital rack delays with a unique and powerful set of diffusion, multi-tap, and filter behaviors. Craft complex echoes and diffused tonal smears that add dimension and depth to any patch.
The pedal input allows you to connect an external pedal that expands the instrument's control capabilities and contributes to a richer musical expression, increasing flexibility and expressiveness when playing and creating music.
The Pitch Bend allows smooth pitch changes, adding expressiveness to musical expression. Often used to create effects such as glissando or vibrato, this feature allows the player to make subtle or dramatic changes to the sound in real time. Pitch bend allows musicians to create smooth transitions between notes, increasing the dynamics and expressiveness of their performances.
The sequencer provides musicians with a tool for composing and arranging music, allowing them to create and edit musical sequences. This feature allows you to record and play back repeating patterns. This makes it easy to create complex rhythms and melodies. The sequencer also allows you to layer different musical elements on top of each other, sync with other devices, and adjust parameters in real time. This flexibility makes the sequencer an invaluable tool for producing music, experimenting with new sounds and creating original compositions.
Aftertouch technology on the keys allows musicians to add a new level of expression to their playing. When a key reaches the bottom of its stroke, the pressure exerted on the key can continue to be sensed and used to control various aspects of the sound, such as vibrato, volume, or tone modulation.
The Arpeggiator transforms chords into sequences of individual notes played in various rhythmic and melodic patterns. Instead of playing the chords as a harmonic whole, the Arpeggiator breaks the chords into individual notes and plays them sequentially according to the selected algorithm.
The ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) type envelope filter gives you precise control over the dynamics and shape of your sound. The ADSR components are detailed as follows: Attack: Specifies how quickly the sound reaches its maximum volume upon activation. Decay: Specifies the time it takes for the volume to drop from maximum to sustain. Sustain: Represents a stable volume level that is maintained as long as the sound is active. Release: Specifies how quickly the volume fades to zero after the sound has been released.
This instrument has 61 keys, equivalent to 5 octaves, providing a wide range of tones for a variety of musical applications.
An LFO, or low frequency oscillator, brings electronic sound to life. It adds movement and interest to synthetic sounds and effects, playing an important role in both subtle synthesis and bold sound design. However, you won't hear the LFO itself because it acts as a modulator. This means that it does not directly affect the audio signal, but adjusts other parameters such as oscillator pitch and filter clipping.
Modulation allows you to change different aspects of the sound in real time, opening up a wide range of creative possibilities. For example, it can affect the pitch of the sound, creating a vibrato effect, or it can change the amplitude of the signal, creating a tremolo effect. It can also adjust filtering to create smooth transitions between frequency bands and dynamic textures. Modulation can also be used to change the character of the sound depending on the time or intensity of playing, giving the sound a lively and moving character.
This dual-oscillator synthesizer offers a wide range of sonic possibilities that combine harmonic and non-harmonic tones. Users can adjust the frequency and amplitude of each oscillator separately, allowing harmonious layering of sounds, creating unison effects or captivating modulations.
The headphone output allows direct connection of headphones for private listening. This output provides a convenient way to enjoy the sound without disturbing others or ambient noise.
It supports MIDI, allowing you to connect and communicate with other MIDI-compatible devices. This feature extends control and integration into the larger music environment, increasing flexibility and creativity in music creation.
The polyphony of this instrument allows up to <%=tp_value % notes to be played simultaneously, providing rich and complex musical possibilities.
