Pébéo Setasilk Silk Paint 17 Meadow Green 45 ml 1 pc

Setasilk is the water-based silk paint in the Pébéo range. It can be used on different types of silk, such as twill, pongee, crepe de Chine, georgette crepe and damask silk. Setasilk colours are bright, intense and can be mixed together, and are ready to use.The fluidity of Setasilk silk paint makes it easy to apply, producing rich, refined, luminous tones. The paint does not stiffen the silk, so the fabric retains all its fluidity and suppleness.

  • For silk painting, you can use different techniques such as crimping with gutta, the salt sprinkling technique, sun painting or wax batik. If you opt for the crimping technique, which is the most commonly used technique for painting on silk, we recommend that you also use water-based Pebeo Gutta to make the crimps, i.e. to create borders to separate the colours in your design. The Setasilk colours are simply ironed on and the silk is then washable.
  • To work on silk, we recommend stretching it over a frame or laying it on a fleece and fixing it with an adhesive. This solution is particularly practical for certain materials such as ties. If you're just starting out in silk painting, don't hesitate to have a look at our sets, which include several colours and the materials you need to make your first painting.Setasilk is suitable for both beginners and experienced painters. The water-based paint is of superior quality and dries quickly in just a few minutes in the open air.

How to use:

  • Applicable on all types of silk: twill, pongé, crêpe de Chine, crêpe georgette, damask silk, …
  • Some silks require washing before use to remove the primer.
  • Wait until the colours are well dried before fixing them.
  • 48 hours after fixing, the colours can be washed by hand and machine (delicate setting). Dry cleaning is not recommended.
