Recording King RAM-3-TS Mandoline

I bought the instrument primarily because it is at a good price and has a solid top instead of laminated, which adds a lot to the sound. It sounds very nice, but it has some minor problems. The saddle needs to be replaced because the first G string sizzles, it's too deep. Due to the adjustable bridge, this can be relatively eliminated, but it can still be annoying. The surface of the cover under the fingerboard was smeared with something, probably glue, during production. During re-stringing, the metal hanger belonging to the G string had to be tightened at the string holder, because it was pressed down so much that it was not possible to put the loop on it. The belt clip button had to be fitted because it was loose. Tuning keys work well after oiling. The protruding ends of the tangents need to be filed smoother, because they poke a little. All in all, it's a good instrument and I recommend it, if only because it's made of very good wood, but in order for this to take effect, you shouldn't regret the time it takes to set it up, after that it's completely fine. It sounds very nice with Elixir strings, and its appearance is very elegant due to the matte surface.
